Noah and Maddy’s journey began in their hometown of Claremont, California, though they didn’t meet until 2017 when Noah reached out to Maddy on Instagram. “I wasn’t interested in dating at the time,” Maddy recalls, “but after two attempts and encouragement from friends, I agreed to a date.” By their second date, they were hooked.
After a few years in Los Angeles, work brought Maddy to San Francisco, and Noah joined her with their puppy, Poppy. “Ever since then, we’ve loved being able to call SF home,” Maddy shares.
For months, Noah planned a proposal to surprise Maddy completely. “I always thought I’d figure out when it was happening,” Maddy says, “but everyone kept the details a secret for five months.”
Days before the proposal, Noah mentioned a dinner reservation in Sausalito. Maddy analyzed the details but dismissed the idea, thinking Sausalito held no significance for them. On their way to dinner, Noah turned into the Golden Gate Promenade. “We’re making a little pit stop,” he said. That’s when Maddy realized this was the first spot they had visited after moving to San Francisco—a place tied to their excitement about starting fresh.
At sunset, under a tree adorned with lights and rose petals, Noah proposed with a custom Nova Scissor-cut. A friend captured the moment in photos. The surprises continued at a wine bar, where 40 friends and family awaited to celebrate. “We closed out the night singing karaoke until 3 a.m. It was magical,” Maddy says.
We asked Maddy why she chose Eliette and she said:
“When we started ring shopping, I knew I wanted something unique and I was drawn to art deco designs and thick bands. Initially, I was opposed to getting a ring online, but when I came across the Nova ring on Pinterest, I instantly fell in love. We went to a few other appointments, but I kept coming back to the Nova. We scheduled a consultation with Jenny and she instantly made us feel comfortable with the virtual process. When I described to her all the characteristics I loved in different diamond cuts, she was able to suggest a scissor cut diamond for me and that ended up being the one I chose for the center stone of my Nova. We loved knowing that Eliette was based in our city of San Francisco and that we were supporting an Asian & Female owned business.”
Congratulations Maddy and Noah! Wishing you all the best in this brand new chapter of your lives.
