Say Yes with Eliette: Johnny and Carrie

Some love stories feel like they’re meant to be, and for Carrie and Johnny, it’s easy to believe that fate had a hand in their journey. Though Johnny had recently moved back to Chicago after spending eight years in Milwaukee—first attending Marquette University and then teaching—Carrie had also made her way to the Windy City after her own college years at Indiana University. But it wasn’t until St. Patrick’s Day in 2021, when their paths finally crossed during the city’s festive celebration, that their love story truly began. Guess luck was on their side that day!

Come November 2024, Johnny knew it was time to take the next step. He planned a heartfelt surprise, inviting Carrie for a casual evening out ahead of a busy weekend. As they walked through a charming park near their home, Johnny knelt down and presented her with a stunning custom Nova cushion-cut ring—turning an ordinary moment into one they’d cherish forever.

Just when Carrie thought the surprises were over, Johnny whisked her to the bar where they had their first date, a nostalgic touch that made the evening even more special. When they returned home, Carrie was met with yet another surprise—Johnny’s friends had beautifully decorated their space to celebrate the occasion. The joy continued throughout the weekend as Carrie shared the exciting news and her stunning ring with her mom and best friends.
