Say Yes with Eliette: Josué and Felicia

Josué and Felicia’s love story began with a simple swipe on Tinder. For Felicia, it was her very first date from a dating app, as she had just left a long-term relationship. “I almost didn’t swipe right because I wasn’t sure I wanted anything serious at the time,” Felicia admits. “But something told me I’d want him to be my boyfriend.” She was right. The connection was instant, and to their surprise, they’d been living just two blocks away from each other the entire time.

Their first date at a local karaoke bar was filled with laughter and music, a passion they both shared. As the night came to a close, Josué, half-jokingly, asked, “So, when are we getting married?” That playful question ended up being prophetic.

The wedding itself was a beautiful culmination of their journey. For Josué, originally from Los Angeles, and Felicia, from Phoenix, having all their loved ones together in Portland was a rare and special occasion. “It was amazing to start the rest of our lives with the support of our friends and family,” Felicia shares. One of the most touching moments was the presence of her parents, who hadn’t been in the same room together in almost 20 years. It was also the first time their mothers met, and Felicia fondly recalls, “It was so cute seeing them together.”
