Say Yes with Eliette: Josh and Hanna

In the heart of Sacramento, an independent barber, Josh, found an unexpected love with Hanna, an exceptional wedding/events florist and small flower farmer. Their journey began in June last year, when a simple swipe on Hinge set the stage for a love story neither of them saw coming.

From the moment Josh saw Hanna walking up for their first date, he felt a spark. “I remember getting goosebumps in the middle of summer,” Josh recalls. What was meant to be a quick 30-minute meetup turned into five hours of laughter, chemistry, and unforgettable moments. “I left thinking this was either going to be something really amazing or really bad for me,” he says. As it turned out, it was the best thing to ever happen to him.

Their love grew stronger with each passing day, and by the time their first anniversary rolled around, Josh knew he wanted to make it official. They planned a special anniversary photoshoot in Yosemite with their dear friend Logan, who was in on the secret.

During the photoshoot, as they captured beautiful memories against the breathtaking backdrop of Yosemite, Logan subtly cued Josh. Hanna thought they were setting up for another cute shot when Logan handed Josh the ring. Hanna turned around about to jump into Josh’s arms, only to find him down on one knee, asking her to marry him. Hanna was so surprised she was speechless, but of course, she eventually said yes. They celebrated by taking a few more photos, each one capturing the joy and excitement of their engagement.

Josh had known early on that Hanna was the one he wanted to spend his life with. They often joked about rings, guest lists, and wedding plans. One day, as they browsed Instagram, Hanna stumbled upon the Nova Emerald-cut and fell in love with it. “Are you sure this is the one?” Josh teased, hinting that a proposal could happen at any moment. Hanna was certain—it was the ring of her dreams.

Both Josh and Hanna share a non-materialistic philosophy, valuing meaningful experiences over possessions. Hanna expressed her desire for a moissanite ring, but Josh wanted to make sure it was perfect. A lab-created ring was the ideal choice, symbolizing their unique bond and commitment to sustainability.
